MY JOURNEY
She Did What?
She went back to work after retirement!
I am a Licensed Professional Candidate. What does that mean for you? That means you get the advantage of two clinical minds. One with years of clinical experience and one with extensive book education and life education.
I completed my Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University in 2013, but I didn’t go into practice after graduation because I was blessed with a baby girl. Now that I have a teenage daughter, I feel it is time for me to start pursuing my own interests. I have always had a deep desire to help people, and I have the backing of life experience.
I have a deep love for animals, and one of my specialties is working with people who have suffered loss. Loss of marriage, loss of a parent, the decline of a parent, loss of a lifestyle, loss of direction, and loss of faith.
If you are suffering from grief, from the loss of an animal, you won’t get a therapist who wonders why you are so messed up behind the loss of your pet, the one you laughed with, the one you played with, the pet that listened to you when nobody else would. We can create a safe space for you to laugh, remember, and grieve your loss.
I know what it’s like to go to bed with a mom and wake up without one. Or to watch your once viral dad slowly decline. I know what it’s like to walk in on your spouse and their new lover. I know what it’s like to lose your savings to the dot-com bubble. And I know what it’s like to come out of retirement after you thought your life was going to be filled with freedom and grandchildren. I know what it’s like to wake up and wonder if there is a God and where is He? So, what I lack in clinical experience, I have in living and digging through stuff you’d rather keep buried, to come out on the other side.
I know what it’s like to walk into a therapist's office, the vulnerability and the fear. So, when you walk into my office, you will truly have someone who has walked a mile in your shoes. If you would like to take that brave next step in self-care, sign up for a free 15-minute call to discuss how we can create that safe space to move forward with your life, change the stories, and become more comfortable with your next steps.
